How To Build With Evolve®

Decking with Evolve^® Plastic Lumber is similar to traditional lumber decking techniques with a few differences. Use the following guide to help you plan your decking project.

Step 1. Prepare a traditional lumber deck frame with 2" x 8" joists, spaced 12" apart on center.

Step 2. Cover deck with 3/4" x 6" tongue and groove boards. Fasten using 1-5/8" stainless steel trim head screws. Drive screws at a 45° angle to the tongue bead and fasten to joists. Fasten deck boards at ends to deck frame also using 1-5/8" stainless steel trim head screws.

Step 3. Notch, drill & countersink handrail posts. Attach posts to deck using 3/8" x 3" stainless steel lag bolts and 3/8" x 7/8" stainless steel flat washers. Space posts no more than 60" apart on center.
